General

7 questions
Do you offer 24/7 emergency plumbing in NYC?
Yes. NP Co.™ operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year across all five NYC boroughs. We do not charge overtime rates for nights, weekends, or holidays. Average emergency response time under 60 minutes.
Are your plumbers NYC licensed?
Yes. All work is performed by NYC-licensed master plumbers or journeymen under direct master plumber supervision. Our company is fully bonded, insured, and registered with the NYC Department of Buildings.
Do you service all five NYC boroughs?
Yes. NP Co.™ has licensed plumbers and local crews across all five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island.
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
Yes. All labor is backed by a 1-year workmanship warranty. If any work we performed fails within one year due to our workmanship, we return and fix it at no charge.
Can I supply my own fixtures?
Yes. We install customer-supplied fixtures. Our 1-year labor warranty applies to the installation work, but not to the fixture itself. Call us before purchasing to confirm compatibility.
Do you serve commercial properties?
Yes. We serve residential and light commercial clients including restaurants, offices, and multi-unit buildings throughout NYC.
Do I need a sump pump in NYC?
If you have a below-grade basement — especially in flood-prone areas of Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, or The Bronx — yes. We install primary pumps and battery backup systems.

Pricing

2 questions
How much does a plumber cost in NYC?
We use flat-rate upfront pricing. Common ranges: drain cleaning $150–$400, water heater replacement $800–$2,500, leak repair $200–$800, full repiping $3,500+. You receive a full written estimate before we start.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Free, flat-rate estimates on all non-emergency jobs. Full cost known before work begins. No hourly billing surprises.

Emergency

2 questions
How quickly can a plumber arrive in an emergency?
We target under 60 minutes anywhere in NYC. In central Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, we often arrive within 30–45 minutes.
What should I do if I have a burst pipe?
Locate your main water shut-off valve and turn it off immediately. Then call us at (347) 769-2266. Document damage with photos for insurance while you wait.

Drains

2 questions
What is hydro-jetting and when do I need it?
Hydro-jetting uses high-pressure water to fully scour pipe walls — removing grease, scale, and roots. Unlike snaking, it fully restores pipe capacity. Recommended for recurring clogs and main sewer lines.
Can chemical drain cleaners damage pipes?
Yes. Products like Drano are corrosive and can damage older NYC pipes — especially the cast iron and galvanized pipes common in pre-war buildings. Professional cleaning is always safer and more effective.

Leaks

1 questions
How do I know if I have a hidden water leak?
Signs include: unexplained water bill spikes, water stains on walls or ceilings, musty smell, low water pressure, or the sound of running water when no fixtures are on.

Water Heaters

1 questions
How long does a water heater last?
Tank water heaters: 8–12 years. Tankless: 15–20 years with maintenance. Signs of failure: rusty water, rumbling sounds, water pooling around the unit, or consistently lukewarm water.

Pipes

1 questions
Do you replace galvanized pipes?
Yes — one of our most common NYC jobs. Pre-war buildings throughout all five boroughs have galvanized steel pipes that corrode from inside, restricting flow and leaching rust. We replace with copper or PEX.

NYC-Specific

2 questions
Do you work in NYC co-ops and condos?
Yes. We coordinate with building management and supers, understand board requirements, and ensure all work is NYC DOB compliant with permits pulled when required.
What makes NYC plumbing different?
Pre-war building stock, NYC DOB permit requirements, co-op/condo approval processes, tight spaces, high water pressure from elevated reservoirs, and strict gas regulations. Our plumbers are trained specifically for these NYC challenges.

Safety

2 questions
What should I do if I smell gas?
Leave the building immediately. Don't use light switches or phones inside. Once outside, call your gas utility or 311. After gas is shut off, call us at (347) 769-2266 for licensed repair.
Do you handle NYC DEP permits?
Yes. For work requiring NYC DOB or DEP permits — sewer replacements, gas line installations — we handle the full permit application process as part of the job.
